Luke Hanna

Born and raised in Pito-One, Wellington, I’ve always drawn inspiration from the vibrant landscape of the beach, my connection to Te Ao Māori, and the power of movement to ground and heal.

My journey began with eight years in full immersion Te Reo Māori education and continued through a lifelong passion for dance and movement. After graduating from the New Zealand School of Dance in 2006, I spent years traveling the world, learning, and sharing through movement. This journey brought me a deep understanding of how physical awareness keeps the mind present and fresh, helping people connect to themselves and their communities.

Returning home to Pito-One, I’ve focused on creating spaces where people can reconnect—with themselves, with nature, and with each other. My work in movement, from teaching to choreographing, has evolved into a broader mission: supporting health and well-being through intentional practices. This mission is now embodied in Embody Saunas.

Set on the beach of Pito-one, with views of Matiu Island and the city beyond, Embody Saunas is more than a place to relax—it’s a sanctuary where movement, heat, and mindfulness meet. It’s an opportunity to pause, breathe, and center in the present moment, letting the warmth and beauty of Pito-One restore you.

Through the sauna, I hope to continue my lifelong passion for nurturing health and community, creating rituals of care and connection that honor our shared environment and the power of movement to transform lives.
